In this era of Evidence Based Practice, carrying out a high quality research for identifying the best evidence available in clinical practice has become the responsibility of each and every person who practices health care.

This training workshop will be focusing on application of basic statistical methods which includes understanding of data, principles of data entry into SPSS, data analysis using SPSS software and to successfully interpret and communicate the results of statistical analysis.

The aim of this workshop is to familiarize and refresh the lecturers and postgraduate students with an overview of data entry; descriptive statistics of categorical and continuous data; analysis of variance; parametric and non-parametric tests; and correlation and regression analysis; an understanding of the statistical techniques they are likely to encounter in applied medical research.

At the end of the workshop, the participants should be able to

• Advance / improve their knowledge on the basic principles of biostatistics to analyze the research data and interpret the results of data analysis in medical research.
• Develop their knowledge and skills in data analysis and interpretation using SPSS software
